Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 not getting 867 MHz
AC 7260 NGW to AC 8265 NGF
Hello,
I am thinking of replacing my AC 7260 NGW to AC 8265 NGF. The primary reason is to get Bluetooth 4.2.
My PC is OptiPlex 9030 All In One.
Will it work? Is it worth? Thanks.

slow wifi 2,4 ghz with ac 8265 @ yoga 720 13IKB
Hello,
I have recently purchased a Yoga 720 13LKB with Intel AC 8265, Win 10 64 bit as OS. Now the issues I'm experiencing are twofold and the following:
1. Slow Wifi connection if a 2,4 GhZ frequency is chosen, whereas it is fast as it should be if I choose the 5 GhZ frequency. On the 5 ghz frequency, I get 30 Mbp/s, whereas on the 2,4 ghz frequency at most 10 Mb/s.
At the same time, my mobile phone and a very old notebook with a generally very bad Broadcom chip deliver on both connections the speed they should, on these devices, regardless of the frequency I always get 30 Mbp/.s
I had a look in the energy settings of Windows as well as into the advanced settings of my network card and tried various settings (I also read intensely on this board and tried many of the recommendations I found), none of which improved the speed on the 2,4 ghz frequency
2. On both the 5 ghz frequency and 2,4 ghz frequency, the range is much more limited on my Yoga than it is on my mobile phone and my old computer. I understand this in the case of the 5 ghz frequency, but there seems to be a serious issue with the 2,4 ghz frequency
I should stress the fact that these issues occur with different routers, the one I'm actually using is a FritzBox 7490 but the same issues held for some Netgear Router (the model of which I don't remember). Right now, I'm running the Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers version 19.60.0, but I also tried different (older) drivers, none of which improved the speed on the 2,4 ghz frequency.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Intel dual band 7260AC for desktop hangs on Windows 10 creator edition with IPv6 enabled
I was previously running Windows 10 64-bit Anniversary edition 1607 without any problems.
I have an Intel dual band 7260AC for desktop installed with IPv4 and IPv6 enabled, driver version 18.33.6.2 from the wireless proset version 19.50.1
A few days ago, I installed the update to the new Windows 10 Creator edition 1703 and ALL applications, including console programs like 'nslookup' and 'ping', using the wirless network started to become 'not responding' after a few minutes or less.
Once an application 'hung', it could not be terminated from task manager, giving an 'access denied' error when attempting and 'end task'.
If I disabled the Intel 7260AC adapter and using a wired Broadcom ethernet connection, everything worked normally again.
After disabling IPv6 on the Intel 7260AC, the wireless network ALSO worked again without hanging.
Looking at the symptoms, it seems there is a problem with the 18.33.6.2 driver on Windows 10 Creator edition, where an application gets 'hung' inside the system call to the driver, because they can't be terminated anymore.
I didn't see any newer drivers available and was wondering if other people have encountered similar problems or are using a 7260AC adapter with IPv6 enabled normally?

WiFi download rate slow down.
A WiFi mystery. First, the equipment involved: an HP 15-ay039wm notebook C running Intel802.11ac Intel Dual Band Wireless AC3165, a Linksys EA7500 router, all operating on 5GHz WiFi. Distance between the router and the HP notebook is about 15 feet. HP notebook runs on Windows 10 64 bit. WiFi driver is up to date.
Issue: as measured by Speedtest.net, WiFi download speed is usually around 180 megs. However, sometimes, without warning or indication of trouble, the download speed as shown by Speedtest.net will decrease to 50 megs download. Internet transfers are not interrupted. Download speeds on the HP notebook return to normal after uninstalling and reinstalling the Intel Dual Band Wireless AC3165, Of course, there's no indication of what causes the isses, and no hint of whether the problem lies with the Speednet.net test or not. Resetting the Linksys router makes no difference.
Intel dual band 7260AC hangs on Windows 7
I'm getting same behavior on Windows 7.
The internet connection hangs. When it happens I disable the wireless network adapter, then I enable it but it hangs then I need to reboot. This happens several times a day.
I've installed the 19.60.0 driver version.
Please advice how to proceed to solve the issue. Kind of tired of restart the PC.
I tried changing HT Mode to "VHT Mode" (though not the best option) but still the WiFi hangs after awhile.

Low Download Speed High Upload Speed 3165
i have dual booted a dell laptop with windows 10 creators update and Ubuntu
I have a 10mbps connection
using the speedtest, I got the upload speed in windows to be the max (near 10 mbps) but download speed was only 0.37-0.50 mbps after repeated reboots
I tried installing different versions of intel drivers(19.20,19.50(Dell Recommended), 19.60) but no change
I downgraded my windows to anniversary update and got the perfect download speed
Also Ubuntu has given me the expected speed everytime
any solutions?
note: I have kept track of background downloading processes and found none to be consuming the speed

Hi
Since Intel is no longer supporting that product, where else can I download an update for it? Thanks.

Intel Dual Band AC 7260 Random Disconnect and Driver Disappear
Hello,
I have seen a couple other threads describing similar problems, but none with a resolution that works for me. Similar threads:
,
I am running Windows 10 on a desktop and the Dual Band AC 7260 has been working fine for years. Several months ago the following problem started although I am not sure of any software or hardware changes that specifically led to the problem. I used to be able to run days between disconnects, but the frequency has increased and now the WIFI won't stay connected for more than an hour.
Problem description:
- Randomly the card will disconnect from WIFI
- Device Manager shows the driver is missing for the device once this occurs. Prior to the problem Device Manager shows the device is working properly.
- The tray icon shows that the WIFI is still active and even connected to my home network. But no other networks are shown and the Wifi status shows "connected but no internet"
- Once the adapter is in this state, I am no longer able to enable/disable the network adapter (it seems it is hung)
- The only way to resolve the problem is a reboot, which will crash with DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE.
- I have checked the System Event logs, but nothing from the AC 7260
I have tried the following steps discussed in other threads but nothing has had an impact:
- Disabled all applications that automatically start up
- Removed and reinstalled the latest Intel PROSet Wireless driver and Intel Wireless Bluetooth driver
- Disabled Ethernet and Bluetooth since I am only using WIFI on this desktop
- Under Device Manager changed the following setting for the Wireless Adapter: "Power Management" tab and toggle Off the option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" - seems laptop specific but it was mentioned in several threads.
Attached is the output from the Intel System Support utility that contains all the details on my system and confirms the latest drivers.
At this point I have run out of things to try. Any suggestions or help is appreciated.
Intel Zero Config service crashes on each shutdown in 8.1 x64 since 19.6.0
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Every time I shut down my Windows 8.1 Pro x64 laptop, I get a crash of Intel Zero Config Service in the event viewer. This happens with the 19.6.0 and 19.7.0 driver versions (although the latter installs the 19.6.0 service), but the 19.5.0 driver works without issue.
I tried a clean installation of Windows 8.1 on a spare HD in the laptop, then installed only the 19.7.0 driver from the Intel site (driver and ProSet wireless "enterprise" software, no wireless extensions). It still crashes on shutdown. Turning off the wifi card has no effect either, as it still crashes even with it off.
The card is an Intel 7260 N dual band without bluetooth, in an Asus F8SN laptop (it's a Core 2 Duo, Vista era, but still quite useful all these years later). It's not the original wifi card. I know Intel doesn't support switching the cards, but unfortunately, they cut off driver support many years ago for the original 4965AGN wifi card, which is also a dual-band N. This 7260 is just a side-grade to be able to get new drivers once again, since there is no Win 8.1 driver for the card the laptop came with.
Still, I'd like to get this apparent bug reported so that Intel can fix it, or find out if there is something I can to do remedy the crashing. Given that 19.5.0 worked fine, it would have to be something that changed in the 19.6.0 release.

AC 7260 bluetooth hardware not showing
I have a Dual Band AC7560 wireless Card with Bluetooth. Earlier this year the bluetooth stopped working. My device manager said that the bluetooth hardware was not connected. I was able to resolve the issue by rolling back my wireless driver to the original driver that came with the computer. i have an HP and use the HP recovery assistant to roll the driver back. Now, I am have the same problem again, starting a few days ago. Bluetooth is no longer showing up on the computer and the computer tells me that I don't even have bluetooth hardware. I tried to roll back the driver again, but this time it did not work. What can I do to get my bluetooth working again?
Intel 8265 ac constant high latency jitter
I have a new laptop with an intel 8265ac wifi card in it. The card connects fine, downloads fine, etc, but there is very high latency issues. In general, every few seconds, the card's latency just spikes.
Even running a ping command to my wireless modem often shows pings north of 100ms, just to the modem.
There are two other devices in my house that use intel wifi cards. One is an intel 7260ac card and one is an intel 8260ac card. Both connect to the same network without any problems or ping spikes in that manner; only this new 8265ac wifi card does.
I can access my full, consistent download. I can watch streaming sites like twitch.tv just fine, and I can watch video playback sites like Youtube just fine. I simply notice some issues with voice chat via programs like Teamspeak 3 or Discord, and I am unable to play reaction-based online multiplayer games as a result of the constant spikes.
The OS is windows 8.1 Pro x64.
The power plan is "High Performance", and "prefer maximum performance" is selected.
WLAN Optimizer has been used (as it fixed intermittent spikes on both the 7260ac and 8260ac in the past) but seems to have zero effect on the 8265ac. The card also does not seem to spike ping when I manually search for networks, unlike the 7260ac/8260ac. It makes me feel that for some reason it is constantly searching no matter what I want, and is giving me bad performance as a result.
Note that the roaming aggressiveness of the card is left at the default "3. Medium", if that makes any difference.
Any more information that can be provided by me I shall be happy to provide; simply ask for it. If I just have a bad card, then so be it. But I really hope it isn't the case.
Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168
Hi,
What are the benefits in the new Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168?
I'm curious to know whether to replace my 3165 with 3168, or not. It's about $20. But I could find very little differences between the two https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/compare-products.html?productIds=94854,89450
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.
Low signal strength of Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160
Hi I am using dell laptop with Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 wifi modem.
Till yesterday, I had all the wifi networks working perfectly, but all of a sudden after a routine update of windows 10 got installed all the wifi signals went low. one thing I have observed if I go near the router I get good signal but away from it is causing a disconnection. Tried with all the possible drivers as well, currently on "18.33.7.2" driver version.
Done all the setup requested by other threads as shown below. checked the power consumption and they were set to maximum performance both on battery and powered mode.
Tried uninstalling all the updated on windows 10 but still facing the same issue. I am following up in parallel with windows 10 support team as well.= for resolution.
Please help me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AC7260 Sporadically Disconnects Win 10
Hi,
I have a Windows 10 desktop with Intel Dual Band Wireless AC7260 wifi. Periodically (about once every hour or so), my internet disconnects. When it does disconnect, rather than getting the Windows wifi logo with the red X in my system tray, I get the wifi logo with the white star. If I click on the wifi logo, other wireless connections are available for me to connect to from my neighbors, but just not mine. After about 10-15 seconds, my network shows back up again in my wireless connections, and I can connect back just fine. Nothing else happens, like others have reported on here. Here's what I know so far:
Signal strength is fine.
Happens with both 2 and 5 GHz bands.
I have the most up to date drivers as of yesterday.
This has happened for a while now, not entirely sure when it started but at least a year. I'm only recently using this computer to stream, which makes this a big headache now.
I have the most up to date Windows Updates (again, as of yesterday).
I tried some fix I found from a different post that suggested trying to repair the proset driver install. didn't help.
I attached the log from the intel system support utility, since I've seen everyone ask for this from other posts.
I get no errors or warnings when this happens, other than the programs I'm using alerting me that I have no internet.
I built this computer myself, but this wifi chip was integrated into the motherboard I used.
I'd love for someone to please help me fix this.
Thanks!
Change preferred network order programmatically - Intel ProSet
As the title suggests I'm looking for a way to change the preferred network order programmatically, via a script, reg key or direct file manipulation. Does anyone know if this is possible and how it might be done? For reference my primary clients will be Windows7, but interested for Vista and XP also if the process is different. Thanks in advance.
7260 AC device not visible but Bluetooth working fine
Hi,
I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro just out of warranty and one day the wifi on it just disappeared like it wasn't even installed. I tried reinstalling Windows 10 and booting into Linux but it still isn't there. Bluetooth is working fine however, and that's on the same card so it's detecting and using the 7260. The next thing I did was to completely replace the card but I'm still having exactly the same problem with the new one. I've reset the BIOS to default settings and confirmed that wireless is enabled in there.
Next things I think of are the motherboard (which looks like it would cost hundreds to replace) or the antennas. Does the card have some feature where the wifi won't enable if there's a fault with the antenna?
I'm really stumped as to what to do now.
Thanks.
Intel AC 8265: Booting from Linux to Windows results in non-functional Bluetooth
When booting Linux, the Linux drivers upload firmware build 103 to the Bluetooth part of my Intel AC 8265 wireless adapter. Build 103 seems to be the latest one available to Linux users:
Then, when rebooting the into Windows, the Windows driver doesn't work. In the device manager, the Intel Bluetooth device is marked with a yellow triangle and STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE is shown as an error message when checking the properties of the device.
When booting to Windows first, a subsequent reboot to Linux reports that the firmware of the Bluetooth adapter is build 107. My best guess here is that the Windows driver won't accept build 103 and thus refuses to work with it. It seems like the Windows driver does not or cannot upgrade the device firmware to build 107 if build 103 has already been uploaded. Ideally it would simply reset the device and upload whatever firmware it comes with.
Is this a known issue?
How can this issue be resolved?
How is the Windows driver supposed to behave in a dual boot environment?
Hosted Network Not Supported
I am using HP Probook 450 G4 Notebook PC , Windows 10 (64 Bit). And have the following Wi-Fi driver.
Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
Description: Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168
Driver version: 19.51.0.4
Physical address (MAC): 10-F0-05-6F-65-FD
But it doesn't support Hosted Network. That's why I can't create Wi-Fi hotspot from my laptop. What should I do now? How to fix this problem?
