AC-8260 Huge connection problems

$

Hello, I just bought a new Lenovo Y700 with AC 8260 adapter, but my WiFi connection has some terrible issues. It's very slow and frequently disconnecting.

I discovered that I can somewhat bypass the problem by setting the adapter to connect with 802/11b only mode. This gives me stable 11 Mb/s speed, but still disconnects from time to time. If I set it to anything else, it fluctuates between 54 Mb/s and 1 Mb/s and disconnects almost every minute. I know it's not a router problem because I use it with other devices without a problem. I also have the newest drivers from intel site. I'd like to know what should I do differently.

Here is how my adapter wireless settings look: wifi.jpg

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 slow speed

Hi,

LAN network transfer speed is around 200Mbps when the max it can transfer is 867Mbps. I've used Iperf3 to check the speed and it is only reporting around 250Mbps. Any idea on how to achieve the max speed possible?

AC 7260 upload channel width stays 20MHz

$

Client: Intel AC 7260 or AC 3160, Windows 10 64-bit, driver 18.33.7.2 (05.04.2017) or 18.33.6.2 (19.02.2017 Windows default).

WiFi router: Mikrotik hAP AC-lite (RB952Ui-5ac2nD-TC).

Wifi 802.11AC mode in use.

Connect WiFi where is a good signal strength (-55dBm or better).

Open WiFi router WebFig->Registration http://192.168.88.1/webfig/#Wireless.Registration

Observe Rx (upload) rate (channel width). It is 80MHz.

Run speedtest.net to check upload speed. In my case it is > 90Mbps.

Move the client to poor conditions where signal strength -75dBm or worse.

Wait about 1,,,2min until upload channel width is stable 20MHz.

Go back to position where is a good signal strength.

Upload channel width stays 20MHz and Speedtest shows 52Mbps.

Only way to get upload channel width back 80MHz is to reconnect to the WiFi.network.

Same situation with different computers, and with Windows 8.1 64-bit.

No such a situation with Windows10 phone equiped with WiFi chip AR6320. Upload channel width returns to 80MHz.

Download channel (Tx on router side) width also returns to 80MHz as expected.

See screenshots.

Upload_80MHz.png

SpeedTest_80MHz.png

Upload_20MHz.png

SpeedTest_20MHz.png

So upload channel width does not return to 80MHz as expected.

The router manufacturer (MikroTik) says that channel width is chosen by client device.

Quetion: is it a bug in the Intel WiFi adapter driver?

Slow speeds with AC 8265

Hello,

I've recently upgrading my internet connection to 500 Mbps fibre however I've only been able to reach speeds of <250 Mbps on my laptop which is equipped with the Dual-band AC-8265, on AC mode, 80Mhz channel width, 5Ghz band, 99% signal strength, I understand that it could reach a theoretical maximum of 800+Mbps however as I mentioned I'm nowhere near that. I've attached a copy of the SSU text, in which it states the following:

Product Type:"Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265"

                    Profile:""

                    Radio Type:"802.11ac"

                    Receive Rate:"866.7 Mbps"

                    Service Name:"Netwtw06"

                    Signal Strength:"99%"

                    State:"connected"

                    Status:"Enabled"

                    Team Name:"Not in a team"

                    Temperature:

                    Transmit Rate:"866.7 Mbps"

Now I suppose this less than scientific or real world speed testing means little to nothing but when my iPhone 6S Plus is consistently running well above 200 Mbps and as you can see in the attached capture (IMG_0757) hits speeds of over 400 Mbps while the laptop rarely sees speeds of 200 Mbps as you can see in the other attached capture (6754205111) this if nothing else suggests that something is configured incorrectly with the Intel driver, as I'm running the speedtests against the same server, same wifi, same internet connection just moments apart...

now I've made some changes in the advanced driver settings however nothing seems to have any meaningful impact, I'm hoping that someone can offer some insight or suggestion that would help.

intel centrino wireless-n 2230 bluetooth installation

Hello,

I have an Itronix XR-1 laptop that I installed an Intel Centrino wireless-n 2230 mini pci-e adapter.

The Laptop is running Windows XP Pro and mainly used for GPS vehicle navigation. (Rarely goes online)

I have a Bluetooth wireless GPS adapter with ext. antenna, that I've used in the past with a USB Bluetooth Dongle.

I'm trying to switch over to using the Intel Centrino 2230 (bluetooth) as it's my understanding the 2230 is a combo card with both wifi and bluetooth.

The product brief shows the 2230 has Bluetooth capabilities, however I'm not able to find any detail how Bluetooth is accomplished using a 2230?

https://www.intel.sg/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/product-briefs/centrino-wireless-n-2230-brief.pdf

Bluetooth 4.0 * (Low Energy) Dual mode Bluetooth

Connects to Bluetooth enabled devices such as a headset, keyboard, mouse and more,

including Bluetooth low energy devices

I don't use this laptop to connect to the Internet via WiFi so the 2230 adapter  will be mostly used to connect to the Bluetooth GPS receiver and possibly other bluetooth devices such as a cell phone.

There are bluetooth drivers installed for a USB Bluetooth dongle.

Intel's 2230 drivers  were installed  from the file "WIFI_WinXP_32_15.8.0.exe" downloaded from the Intel site.

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 empty wi-fi connections

Hello, I recently upgraded my HP Folio 1040 G2 with 4G Module to Windows 10 and I'm having trouble when searching wi-fi networks.

In the device manager the Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 is correctly installed. The HP support assistant says it's all installed.

When I click on the wireless icon it shows an empty dropdown menu and no wifi connections available.

error.png

If I add the wireless network manually it works. But if i'm outside and I don't know the wifi ssid I cannot add them manually.

Just realized this happens sometimes. If I click the wifi button again and toggle the airplane mode button occasionally the wireless connections appear again.

Doing the command "netsh wlan show networks" it shows me all the available connections aldo the menu list is still empty.

It seems to be an interface bug.

Any help? Thanks.

Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 difficulties connecting

I have Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165. Windows 10 pro. I've tried every solution so far; resetting, updating, downgrading driver, delete, changing parameters etc. but nothing helps. The thing is when my HP notebook wakes after sleep it takes time to find my wireless network. It takes everything from 10 seconds to a couple of minutes and sometimes not at all. Or it finds it but stays in connection mode. The problem comes and goes and has been a problem for the last 6-8 months. I can reset the network and I got no problem for 2-10 days and then it starts over again with not connecting with no reason so far I can see. I get the warning: 6105 - deauth after EAPOL key exchange sequence.

KRACK - WPA2 vulnerability

I am looking for information on when Intel will supply a wireless driver updated for the KRACK WPA2 vulnerability. This is a HUGE vulnerability and Intel would have been given a 'heads up' months ago, along with other vendors who already have firmware updates to address KRACK. Clients are the main target of this threat, so a client wireless driver is paramount.

Trouble installing WiFi network controller N 6205 on T430

Hello everybody,

I have trouble to install the driver for my network controller, it's unidentified by windows but the Hardware ID leads to the Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6205 device.

So far no trouble, but on trying to install the latest driver (downloaded from Intel website), it tells me that a later version is already installed and the installation is canceled.

But on trying to manually install the device driver from installed drivers, I can't find one for N 6205, most similar is N 3160 and 7260 , 7265 and 8260.

I am now pretty much clueless about what to do..

Is there another possible driver name or something like that?

AC 7265 wireless adapter: On-going intermittent connectivity issues

$

On-going issue for me going on 18 months now. Purchased new Toshiba Satellite S55-C5274 latop in May 2016. Came pre-loaded with Windows 10. Wi-Fi performance has been sketchy ever since day 1. There exists a problem of intermittent connectivity with the wireless router. Connection starts out good, but gradually starts getting slower and less responsive until the connection has been dropped (no connection to internet) and must be manually reconnected for the next 10 to 15 minutes. Goes on like this all day and night (no problems with direct ethernet connection)

Switched out wireless routers but problem persisted. Updated wireless drivers and used Intel recommended advance settings, problem persisted. Tried everything imaginable but could never get the AC 7265 to stay connected. Finally gave up after months of trying and started using a Netgear wireless USB adapter. Connection was rock solid with the USB adapter. So I quit worrying about it and continued using the Netgear adapter. Until recently. Laptop fell off the bedside table, demolishing the USB adapter when it hit the floor. Remarkably, there was no other damage, but I had to revert back to the AC 7265 wireless chip. Intermittent connectivity issues quickly resurfaced. Just updated the 7265 driver version to 19.51.7.2 but the problem persists. Windows 10 is fully updated to version 1703. I see I'm not the only one that continues to be beleaguered by this issue, but nothing else has worked and I'm at wit's end on this issue. Very frustrating after 18 months. I could always go to Staples and buy another Netgear USB adapter, but doesn't seem unreasonable to expect the seemingly more advanced 7265 chip to be able to deliver better results as well.Any new ideas?

Hello,

I have DELL 5521 (Service Tag: 50W44Y1) with Windows 10 installed. Recently i have purchased Amazon Alexa (2nd Generation) and connected to laptop by Bluetooth.

Here problem starts, When i try to watch videos from youtube or any other website and listen on bluetooth speaker or on Alexa, wifi stops working. Sometimes it shows

connected or sometime it shows no network. Even wifi on/off button also doesn't work. Same thing i tested on other brand's laptop, on same Wifi network and with same bluetooth

speaker and Alexa, it works. I have updated Windows/Wifi drivers from below links using auto detect tools and it shows your device is already updated with latest drivers.

Issues with MSI install PROSet 19.70 and 20.00

$

Intro

We are having trouble with the MSI update package on our systems. The issue is that between 1-3% of our systems are not able to boot after the update is applied. Are there more organizations with this issue and is there a sollution?

Background

- We have machines, HP (elitebook) and Dell (lattitude), laptops all running on Win 7 64b, with Intel Wireless 7260, 7265, 8260 or 8265 chipsets.

- We are updating them with SCCM since version 17.00 and haven't had a problem until version 19.70 and now 20.00 of the msi installer.

Problem

The machines with the problem in some cases get a bluescreen after the installation and all are not booting after "Windows is Starting". We haven't had much luck reproducing the issue on our test machines and we cannot detect a a pattern in chipset/model etc.. It looks like a random 3% of our laptop population. Our total population is 5000 laptops and we have now updated about 1500 to version 20.00. And have put the update on hold until we have more information.

Troubleshooting

All the issues have now been restored by starting in Save Mode and locally repair the MSI, this works almost all cases, but this is not a tactic we're willing to continue .

Possible cause?
The only thing we now have is that all machines with the issue took 12 minutes to complete the installation and 'normal' machine took only 30sec. The difference in time is explained in de msi log by two timeouts that occur in de CA LaunchAppandWait:

I recently bought a Dell Latitude 12-7275.  I also have a new IPhone 8.  When I try to connect the Dell to a hotspot through the IPhone, my Iphone flashes several times at the top and bottom of the screen, and then the Dell gives me a message that it "Can't connect to this network."

I'm running Windows 10.  The Iphone data is through Verizon.  I have installed all Windows updates.  I updated all of my drivers through Dell, and then I updated my wireless adaptor through Intel.  The wireless adaptor is a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260, and I have installed Driver 20.0.2.3.

Please help!

Network problem with Dualband Wireless AC7265 Windows 10

Hi,

I have a rather strange problem on 2 identical laptops with the Dualband Wireless AC7265 adapter installed on Windows 10

The newest drivers are installed and also the newest Windows 10 version but the problem was there before that as well.

The laptops are connected to a domain network and everything looks normal.

When connected to the wifi network:

Internet works

gpupdate /force is generating errors and will not load.

When I go to network in windows explorer it says that the folder is empty.

When I type the name of my fileserver in the address it will find it and connect to it.

When I am connected to the ethernet adapter everything works:

Gpupdate /force works

When I go to network in windows explorer all my network printers etc. are shown.

Clearly this is something in the wireless intel adapter.

Any help is appreciated

Intel Wireless AC 9260 -- Integrate

Here is a link to the Intel Wireless AC 9260.

https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/product-briefs/dual-band-wireless-ac-9260-brief.pdf

I am interested in developing an Intel approved process and package for adding the AC 9260 to existing laptops and desktops.

There are a few items to work through.

1.  We need to install and configure the AC 9260 so that the completed system would comply with FCC Radio standards.

2.  Since the majority of laptops contain a BIOS whitelist that would normally prevent user upgrades of the Wi-Fi chip, there needs to be a simple configuration update in the install to confirm that the Wireless AC 9260 chip is compatible and compliant in the pc or laptop.

3.  Here are  two links to adapters that I believe would work for a  mini pci-e based common laptop install.

A.  The R65SF from BESTAR.

Mini PCIe mPCIe WiFi WAN To M.2 WIFI A.E key / Mini PCI e mSATA / M.2 NVMe Riser Card adapter Extender Cable 8Gbps Custo…

and

B.  The  M2MP1 from peoplemarketing...

New M2MP1 (M.2 NGFF to Mini PCIe (PCIe+USB Adapter) support Full size and half size mPCIe slot/Bluetooth Mini Card-in C…

Now the questions....

1.  What are the chipset requirements for the machine to be upgraded?

I am using a Toshiba Portege M780-s7240 and it works well with the

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 upgrade.

2.  How do we design a Wireless AC 9260 Kit that achieves these goals?

3.  Would either or both of these adapters work?

The item A.  has both the A key and E key for the m.2

The item B. has only the E key.

When will Intel Wireless AC 9260   (9260NGW) product be available to test?

Thanks
