Wake on Wireless LAN not working - Intel Dual band Wireless-AC 7260

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T440p with the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 which supports WoWLAN, but for some reason I am unable to wake my computer using wireless.

Wake on LAN through the ethernet connection in both sleep and hibernation modes works just fine. The problem is only with wireless. I do have everything checked below as you can see, just like with my Gigabit ethernet card. This is on Windows 10, I never tried it on Windows 8 so I don't know if it would have worked in the past or not. I have the latest drivers installed as well.

Intel Centrino Wireless-N105, several versions?

Dear all,

I use in an industrial platform an Intel Centrino Wireless-N105.

I have just received a new batch of these boards and they are not recognized by my OS (WES9). The only difference I can see is former boards were 105BNH and new one are 105BNHU.

Is there a compatibility issue? Should I find a new driver?

Thank you very much for your help.

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 bluetooth issue

I just upgraded my laptop wireless adapter from "Broadcom BCM43142" to "Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11 ac" upon confirmed that the new card is supported from service manual.  Both latest Intel wireless and bluetooth drivers are installed (18.33.0.2 and 18.1.1611.3223 respectively).

AC connection works perfectly fine; however, the bluetooth seems to be having issue here.  For pairing and maintain active connection between bluetooth device and laptop, I have to put them right next to each other literally.  Any distance more than 10cm apart, the bluetooth device will be inactive and unusable.

I don't have such problem with Broadcom which I can perform pairing and maintain active connection even a meter apart.

Does anybody face the same issue before with Intel AC 3160 bluetooth?  Or is this a hardware issue with the card itself?

AC 8260 Bluetooth Audio Sample Rate

Product Name: Elitbook 1040 G3 Notebook

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I recently switched to a HP Elitebook 1040 G3  with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit from an older Elitebook 8470p. I am loving the upgrade with a few exceptions. When I connect a bluetooth headset (I have tried 3 now) and go into Sounds -> Playback Devices -> Bluetooth Headset -> Proeprties -> Advanced I am unable to change the sample rate under default format. It is locked at 1 channel, 8000 Hz (Telephone Quality). I connected the headphones to my old laptop (Elitbook 8470p) and they work great.

I figured this was a driver issue so I updated to the latest drivers on the HP site for my Intel AC 8260 wireless card as well as the latest bluetooth drivers. I then uninstalled the drivers and loaded the latest ones directly from Intel and there was no change. I then uninstalled and loaded the previous set of drivers from Intel, again with no improvement.

Please help. I need stereo bluetooth audio to get through my work day.

How to stop Wifi Link 5100 AGN from connecting to a particular wifi device?

My Wifi Link 5100 AGN keeps connecting to our hospital's guest wifi, instead of to my Verizon Jetpack Mifi. When I boot up my laptop, it automatically selects the hospital's wifi, but I don't want to use that and have to disconnect from it and connect to my own wireless. Is there any way to tell it NOT to select the hospital's wifi? It will also drop my own wifi halfway through the day without notice and reconnect to the hospital's wifi. Without being aware that it does it, I can end up breaking some of the employee rules about using that wifi! Help!

Greetings!

Trying to install the latest driver with the v2.5 Update Utility failed at the end.  Attached are the last logs that came out of the various times of trying the update.  The problem is that I keep getting,

driver_irql_not_less_or_equal (netwlv64.sys)

after the blue screen of death in Windows 10.  I have a dell inspiron 1525 laptop with a solid state hard drive which flies with Windows 10, but I keep getting this error.  The wireless harware, according to the properties is: Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN.

Any help to stop this hourly crashes would be great. Thanks.

wireless-AC 7265 slower than old laptop with Atheros 802.11N from the same spot.

my old laptop has a atheros wireless chip inside.

my current laptop has an intel 7265. latest drivers installed.

Both are synced with the router at 150mbps.

From the same position on my desk, same TPLINK wr841n N-router, same modem, downloading the same speed test file ..... http://speedtest.choopa.net/1GBtest.bin

The intel only gets 700K/s, while the Atheros gets 2900K/s

With 8 parallel threads, I can't even max out my internet connection with the Intel. I get 5300KB/s.

With 2 threads, the Atheros gets 5300K/s, and 3 threads maxes out my connection at 7MB/s.

Why does the Intel run 4x slower than the atheros? It feels like the Intel is capped.

It's consistently slower. Single thread performance is terrible.

For example, downloading Nvidia driver package, the Intel only does 3.6MB/s, whereas the Atheros maxes the connection out at 7MB/s. The Atheros could probably go faster if I had a faster broadband connection.

How can I get the Intel to perform similarly to the Atheros

I already have the wireless on max power setting in Power options.

What settings and hacks do I need to implement?

throughput booster setting does nothing

Wifi adapter disappears after sleep; recognized after battery removal

Hello All:

I upgraded the wireless adapter in my Sony Vaio VPCF23EFX with the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260.

I covered Pin No. 20, but because I do not use bluetooth, I did not cover Pin No. 51.

All went well with connecting until my laptop went to sleep.  After sleeping, I often (though not always) get the following:

1. Notification that I cannot connect to the Internet until I plug in an Ethernet cable.

2. The wireless adapter can be seen in Device Manager only when viewing "Hidden Devices."

3. No wireless adapter is recognized as connected to the laptop..In fact, the little green light that comes on when the wireless adapter is recognized is not on until the wireless adapter is recognized again.

4. Uninstalling and reinstalling with a couple of restarts sometimes causes the laptop to recognize the wireless adapter. (Installed manually via Device Manager and also via downloaded Intel PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers. When installed manually, Windows 10 installs driver v.18.33; when using the Intel software download, v.18.40 is installed.)

5. When No. 4 above does not work, shutting down the laptop and taking out the battery seems to cause a re-recognition of the wireless adapter.

Questions:

1. Should I cover Pin No. 51 even though I do not use bluetooth?

2. Is there something I am missing with the steps I take to get the wireless adapter to be recognized?

3. Is there a reason why taking out the battery (which is in good condition) would cause a re-recognition?

4. Is there a place where I can download the drivers only for this wireless adapter (not the entire 100+ MB driver + software)?

5. Any other suggestions?

Thank you,

edsager

Intel 7260 AC for desktop does not work under windows, works under linux?

$

As the title of this post claims, I've recently purchased a desktop Intel Dual Band AC7260 + Bluetooth for Desktop (it installs in a PCI-Express x1 slot). I cannot get the wifi to work under windows under any conditions.

1- I know the hardware works fine, because both bluetooth and Wifi work great under ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS (x64).

2- In Windows, bluetooth works fine.

3- Under Windows, I cannot enable the wifi no matter what I do.

I get this message in device manager:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

{Operation Failed}

The requested operation was unsuccessful.

Event viewer gives me these two errors every time I try to enable the card:

Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 : Could not allocate the resources necessary for operation.

followed by

Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 : The version number is incorrect for this driver.

I've tried many different driver versions, from the latest 17.13.11.5 drivers all the way back to older drivers in the 16.x range. I've tried clean installations of Windows 7 Home Premium (x64), Windows 8.1 Pro and even tried the Windows 10 Technical Preview, and I get the same error no matter what combination of operating system / driver I use. These are clean installations on a home built desktop. I've tried swapping the card out to another PCI-E slot, but that changes nothing. I've tried disabling every single third party device on my motherboard (I have an Asus P8P67 Pro Rev 3.1), but that doesn't change anything either.

I've searched around these forums a bit to try and see if any other people have similar problems, and many people have similar issues, they are generally related to the card giving a code 10 error coming out of sleep. However, in my particular case, the wifi device never starts, even with sleep modes disabled.

At this point, I'm completely out of ideas. Anyone?

Hi Guys,

I really need your help. I bought the new Aorus X5 Laptop a couple days ago. With it comes a AC8260 as wifi chip. It's not working very well to say the least.

I'm having a lot of connection issue. I'm losing a lot of pings and the ms are high for most of the time. Then the connection get lost again. I can't fix this problem by my own. I already tried a couple solutions for other chips mentioned here or in other forums. At the moment I'm using the driver version 18.32.1.2.

Please let me know what kind of information I need to provide to get this tackled somehow.

Regards

Some of the laptops in our school network keeps disconnecting at various times during the day.

We have found the following event logs.

Source: NETwNs64

Event Id: 7001

"The description for Event ID 7001 from source NETwNs64 cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer."

We also get the following more than 40 times with 3 different Event Id numbers (5005, 5032, 5035) but the event message is all the same as shown below.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

\Device\NDMP4

Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260

The specified resource type cannot be found in the image file

Has anyone come across this issue before?

We are using driver version 18.20.0.9 driver date 23-08-2015

Thanks in advance

Wireless-AC 7265 BSOD Error

Hello all,

I've had some issues with my wireless AC 7265 adapter. I noticed it was intermittently losing connection or losing major speed. I made the changes recommended here: Re: AC-7265 Frequent disconnects/Painfully slow when connected

and so far I haven't that issue occur again.

However, earlier today I had a BSoD (blue screen of death) error (Driver_IRQL_not_less_or_equal netwtw02.sys) that forced my laptop to shut down and lose my work. I am wondering if there is a fix in the works or if anyone else has had this issue. I have the most current driver installed (18.30.0.9).

For more information on this, see here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/driverirqlnotlessorequal-netwtw02sys/8947ed87-1213-41ef-b46b-e61b6373f509

This is a brand new laptop and it has had a lot of driver issues so it has been a little frustrating.

Intel AC-8260 on Windows 10 - connectivity difficulties

$

Hello,

I have a new laptop that includes the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 network adapter, and have been having a persistent issue with my wireless connection stopping responding. This is on Windows 10 (10.0.10856)

The symptoms are that the connection still appears to remain active (so the network indicator in Windows reports that the connection is still active) and I can see continuing "sent" activity in the wifi status dialog, but "received" activity is minimal and web browsers report no connection and/or DNS errors. I can readily re-establish a connection by disconnecting and reconnecting immediately (or disabling and re-enabling wifi), but the frequency of this issue is becoming very frustrating. There doesn't appear to be any specific interval at which this occurs and it seems to be very variable - it can recur within minutes, or at other times be a few hours before it happens. No other devices on the same network have any similar issue.

I've tried using both the manufacturer-provided and latest version (18.40.0) of the drivers, but the issue is the same with both. I've even gone as far as a clean Windows reinstall, but am having the same issue.

Any advice as to how I might be able to resolve this would be very much appreciated!
