Help, accidentally uninstalled Wireless N 7260 device

$

Occasionally my wireless adapter will lose connectivity.  I usually just just go to device manager, disable it then, enable it and that corrects the problem.  This time, I accidentally hit Uninstall.  Now may events log shows the device was deleted.  I did a hardware search and now I can see the device again in device manager but I still get Code 10 This device cannot start.  Any ideas?  I am using Windows 8.1

Thanks!

Will Intel update their Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 7260 for Windows 10 with new updated drivers? I brought one and haven't installed it yet, I'm waiting for Windows 10 to come out first then install my new wi-fi card, but I want to make sure that Windows 10 will work perfectly with this wi-fi card.

Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 (Dell XPS 13 L322x) and Windows 10 - Network Adapter not shown

Hi,

After upgrading to Windows 10 (from 8.1) I noticed that my wifi Connection did not work.

The Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6325 is only listed in the device Manager, but is not even shown in the Network Adapter list (Network and sharing Center)

Windows automatically installs Driver Version 15.16.02 (date 01/06/2015), so I tried to manually install the Drivers provided by Dell for this product (15.10.0.1), which date back to 2013.

Because this didnt work either, I tried several other Drivers (always did a clean uninstall of the Drivers) with no success.

What I found out in the Event log of the device is, that when Windows automatically installs the 15.16.02. Driver, the device could not be "migrated" (Status 0xC0000719), when I try to install the older Drivers, e.g. listed on the Dell Website, the device could not be started (oem166.inf, Problem: 0x15)

I have also tried installing the new Intel smart connect Utility and also the most recent PROSet Wireless Software (that will install 15.18.0.1), which did not help.

Any help is appreciated, thank you

Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG connection problems after upgrading to Win 8.1

Hi guys,

Just recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 on my Gateway laptop with Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG. Everything was fine prior to the upgrade from Windows 8. Now, everytime I put the computer to sleep or stand-by, on logging back in the wifi is disconnected. It still shows all the neighborhood routers but won't connect to mine. It gets stuck at "waiting to authenticate". I have to disable and enable the adapter in Network Connections. That fixes it.

Its just annoying that I have to do this every morning or after I've stepped away for a long time. Any help?

I've downloaded the latest driver from Intel but the update tool in Device manager says I've got the latest version. I'm at 13.0.3.137.

Thanks!

Hello,

We have received some reports from customers who are not being able to have the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth* connection working properly because Windows* Update Dynamic seems not to be working accurately upon installation, as it is supposed to uninstall the current wireless or Bluetooth* driver installed before upgrading to Windows* 10. The OS upgrading process tries to find the latest inbox driver in Windows* Data Base; but the process is not being completed successfully. We would like to inform you that there is a new driver release available in our download center and comes with several fixes for the situation previously mentioned.

Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Windows 10

This isn't a question, it's a solution that worked for me so I thought I would post it pre-emptively!

I have an old Acer Aspire (32-bit) laptop with an Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG adapter from 2008. Having just forced it to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10, I noticed straight away that the wireless was not working (maybe that's why I didn't ever see the Microsoft upgrade option).

I downloaded the Wireless_18.11.0_De132.zip from this page: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25140 then ran the DPInst32.exe file inside the .zip. Nothing much seemed to happen, but on checking Device Manager, the system indicated that the driver is installed but "the device failed to start". I disabled the device, then enabled it - still nothing... getting bored I decided to reboot the machine and start looking for my USB adapter...

Anyway it rebooted, connected to my network and is running perfectly. Not bad for an old Vista machine. Maybe the driver was installed all along and all I needed to do was reboot the machine in the first place. I don't know, drivers aren't really my thing! I thought I'd post this just in case there are other people with similar antique machines lying around.

If it stops someone from getting as annoyed as me, then I've done a good thing

Completed upgrading to Win 10 but now the most necessary support i.e my wifi Adaper (Wifi Link 5100 AGN ) seems dead and no version of it in compatiblity mode too is supported by Win 10 but this did not show up while upgrade checks (otherwise wouldn't have updated) but now the main question is would the driver for Wifi Link 5100 AGN be rolled out in near future for it to run on win 10 ??

HP Spectre X360 and AC-7265 Wifi Adapter

I wish I hadn't purchased the HP Spectre X360 after experiencing the wifi issues this has come with. My most expensive laptop buy, I'm still paying off my credit card for it.

The laptop itself isn't bad but the wifi - surfing the internet and working from home being the key reason for the purchase - is terrible. I've had problems with this model (HP X360 13-4050NA) connecting to my home network and networks away from home since I got it. I should have returned it when I knew of the issue, but I thought a driver might resolve it. However, a search for the AC-7265 Intel wifi driver and the HP Spectre X360 finds plenty of others suffering.

I've spent hundreds of pounds on new routers, wifi adapters, powerlines, and hours and hours on new drivers and updates and research. Tinkering with settings, trying solutions on Intel and HP's site. Windows 10 just made it worse. How can Intel and HP let this carry on for over 6 months? The HP support line just wants me to return it for 2 weeks so they can replace it with *another* of the same adapter - which others report does nothing to help. I rely on this laptop for work.

I have no problems connecting via 5Ghz when I'm sat next to the router, but if I leave the room the issues begin. This is despite my Sky+, iPhone, iPad, printer, and other laptops connecting without fail. I can't connect to hotspots out and about because of it. If I connect to my phone through tethering that's all good - but it's far from practical.

This has been going on for months now with no solution. Twitter, Reddit, HP's forums and other websites are full of these reports. If this is meant to be HP's premium ultrabook solution I would have imagined a far better experience. It's left me very disappointed.

Intel Centrino Wireless-n 2230 Bluetooth Driver

Hello,

I upgrade to Windows 10 and I can't get my Bluetooth drivers installed. The wireless adapter is a Wireless-n 2230. I do not see any Windows 10 Bluetooth drivers for this card on intel website.

I saw this post https://communities.intel.com/thread/77850 but my adapter is not listed there

Windows update tries to download the driver but it keeps failing and it simply shown as an unknown device in device manager.

I am using a Dell Vostro 3560. I have checked dell's website but they do not have it listed there under drivers for the product.

I tried installing the windows 8.1 64bit 2230 Bluetooth drivers. It driver installs successfully but it is still shown as an unknown device in device manager.

Hardware ID: USB\VID_8087&PID_07DA\6&2D3B92E5&0&5

Thanks in advance for any assistance rendered.

Wireless-AC 7265 5GHz not working in windows 8.1

Hello

Running Windows 8.1 (x64), tried drivers 17.13.11 and 17.1.0. The problem is, i cannot see any 5GHz networks using windows list of wifi networks or SSID scan tool (inSSIDer). I can see multiple SSID's including my own on the 5GHz band on my other devices. I just got the 7265 card yesterday.

I have tried a bunch of things, including a fresh install of windows and the stuff in the support section on intel website (adapter settings for optimal performance etc). Nothing works!

netsh says my card has "802.11a" and "802.11ac" capability in windows, which seems fine.

It almost seems like there is something turning off the 5GHz radio on the card in windows.

Since the card is new, i thought there might be a hardware issue, i.e. 5GHz radio broken.

However i tried booting from a linux live USB stick, in this environment i can see 5GHz networks, i can connect to my own 5GHz network and i get AC link rates (400-800mbit) and high transfer speeds (100mbit+). This was on ubuntu 14.04LTS. So there should be no hardware failure or hardware incompatibility issue.

Anyone have any tips? Is there any kind of power saving mechanism (or similar) in windows that's capable of turning off only the 5GHz radio? The 2.4GHz radio works fine.

Windows 10 network adapter instability, post install of Windows 10 drivers - how to fix?

Hello,

I am running a Desktop with an Intel 7260-AC card installed in its mPCIe socket. Pre Win10, everything was stable in Win8.1. Post Win10, I had to install Intel's Win10 drivers for the 7260 to regain Bluetooth functionality. However the intel driver is not stable and is causing errors in the Intel(R) Technology Access TAP Driver (NDIS 6.30). After reboot this device shows a warning icon then un-installs itself to become an Unknown Device under Other Devices in Device Manager.

Is there a known fix, and is this an bug within the Win10 drivers for the Intel 7260.

Cheers.

How to access Intel® Tri-Band Wireless-AC 17265

Hi

I have two dell laptops with wireless card Intel® Tri-Band Wireless-AC 17265. And I have two equipped docking stations. Currently I can use Intel® Wireless Dock manager to setup the connection, control the connections and read information from advanced diagnose. I am wondering is there some command line or script I can use to direct access the wireless card. Or at least am I capable of just perform the same function(like connect to certain docking station) as the wireless dock manager from command line?

Thanks a lot!

7265ac Windows 10 Degrading Performance

$

Currently running Windows 10 with the latest Intel 18.11.0 drivers. I'm seeing some horrible performance as I push the 7265AC card with lots of data, and the performance doesn't revert until I restart the machine. This problem did not exist on Windows 8.1 with 17.13.11.5 drivers, but downgrading to those drivers on Windows 10 does not fix the issue.

It seems like there is something faulty in the driver, since restarts make the problem go away. Anyone else seeing the following issue?

I'm testing with the machine next to the router, and the 192.168.1.3 machine is connected with gigabit ethernet. Windows shows the wifi connection is 800mbps with full signal. I'm sending basic pings, and using iperf to measure transfer speeds, so this eliminates all noise and outside bottlenecks. Once the issue occurs, these are the transfer rates I see:

Ping statistics for 192.168.1.1:

[ 4] 9.01-10.01 sec 7.00 MBytes 58.8 Mbits/sec

Before the issue crops up, all of these transfers easily sustain 300MBits/sec. After a reboot great speeds, and then quickly degrades into barely usable.

I'm pinging my router which is in the same room with the laptop, it has both 5ghz and 2.4ghz ssids, and both exhibit the same problem. I have other routers that also are displaying the same issue, so it's solely the network card / driver.

I've tried multiple versions of the Intel drivers, and tweaking various advanced options, but nothing seems to help.

I have checked for all the obvious things like interference, etc, the problem is strictly this machine and this wireless card.

Anyone else seeing this issue?

How to set 5 GHz ad hoc network using a dual band 7260 802.11ac module

I am trying to set up an ad hoc network under both Windows 7 and Linux with these WiFi cards. However, whilst I can set up an ad hoc network at 2.4 GHz, I have not been able to do so at 5 GHz. There should be no regulatory reasons why I cannot do that in the UK.

Has anyone else been able to set up such an ad hoc network, and if so how?

I am using some Dell rugged laptops with the 7260s running either Windows 7, Ubuntu and Fedora.

My Dell Inspiron 7000 series has a Intel AC 3160 that will not download any faster then about 16mbs. A comcast rep used his laptop on wireless and it ht 70mbs. What do I have to change to take achieve the same download speeds?

I should note I ran the Windows update utility, went to the driver and tried to update it, its states its at the latest. Windows firewall is off fr the private network.

Asus UX305, Intel dual band wireless-AC 7265: "Limited Connection"

$

I have seen other posts relating somewhat to this same "Limited Connection" at public wifi hotspots.

I received a new Asus Zenbook UX305FA-USM1 unit on June 9 and the home WiFi setup had no problem whatsoever.  But the next day, went to major chain bookstore/coffeehouse to use their hotspot wifi and only got "limited connection", i.e. NO Internet.  I have had no problems using my Acer C720 Chromebook in the same hotspot location... neither do any of my other Android devices have any problems.  But this Asus Zenbook cannot connect... very perplexing.

I have tried updating with Intel's driver and went back to the store, but the problem remained.  There is a Best Buy store adjoining the bookstore and even its public wifi gave "limited connection".  --  But I will say that did get a working Internet connection at 2 major hardware chain stores and a major hotel.  The big hamburger chain was spotty but seemed to work when I got a strong signal inside the building.

So, Intel, what do you say about your AC 7265 unit?  Anything?  Do I rollback to original ASUS driver... which did not work in the first place, at least I don't recall updating the driver before my first attempt at the bookstore.

I should mention that I have already made the changes mentioned in this post and will go back a third time to the bookstore tomorrow to test it... is this worth the try?

Please help!  I don't want to return this unit just because only some of my favorite hotspots don't work.
