Hi, Dear Sir:

I have Asus GL552VW Laptop using Windows 10 Enterprise 64 bit edition. After updated to version 1607 yesterday. The system reboot and go to BSOD "Bugcode_ndis_driver" that cause by Intel AC 7265 wireless driver. It keep restart even you rollback the old version of wireless driver. I can't normal boot to desktop unless I go to safemode to disable the Intel AC 7265 on device manager. It happened on Windows 10 64 bit Home edition as well. My laptop was working fine before.

I checked and download the latest driver from Intel website and the problem still...

I installed Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software for Windows® 10 version 19.20.00 (latest) and from 18.21.0 to 19.10.0.

I changed Wireless/Bluetooth card to AC 8260.  Have same problems.

Best Regards.

Louis

Poor WiFi range and speed AC 8260

I have just bought an HP Elitebook 1030 G1 and the WiFi performance is very disappointing.

It has an Intel AC 8260 card. As a direct comparison, the range and speed is far inferior to my Dell laptop that has an AC 7265 card. At a distance from the router where the Dell is starting to lose speed on a Speedtest.net test, the HP is unusable with slow speeds and stalling during downloads.

On speedtest the Dell has a flat chart of constant performance, the HP is very erratic with huge dips.

Both the HP and Dell have the same settings in Device manager and within the power profiles. And I have done a clean install with new drivers so there is no bloatware.

Could this be a faulty WiFi card, or could the hardware be overriding the power settings of the card?

Intel 8260 and 7260 latest driver connectivity issues

Hello,

We are using following Lenovo laptops in our office: T460s (Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260) and X1 carbon (Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260).

OS: Windows 10, 64bit.

Router: Cisco 891F, PEAP authentication for WLAN and Guest AP.

For 8260, we cannot connect to the PEAP AP at all with the latest 19.1.0 (19.20 package) drivers. It says Can`t connect to the network. For Guest network, it connects successfully, but Internet connection loses in a minute. When we roll-back to 18.4 version driver, it starts working perfectly again.

For 7260, we have the same connectivity issue, but it doesn`t work on both 17.1* and the latest driver from 19.20 package (I believe it is 18.4).

Should we just wait for drivers update or there is something I can try to do right now?

How to completely uninstall WIFI Drivers?

I have a Gigabyte GC-WB867D-I (rev. 4.2) that has an Intel 8260 Wireless card. WiFi is working fine but I can't get the computer to recognize the bluetooth. In device manager, it shows as "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)". Checking its properties, it shows error code 43. I tried to follow the solution posted in https://communities.intel.com/thread/96734, but I am unable to completely uninstall the existing wifi drivers.

- I have uninstalled it from the programs list (both wifi and bt intel drivers)

- I have uninstalled the drivers using device manager (both wifi and bt), although there is no checkbox option to delete the drivers that are related to it

When I restart, the wifi shows up again in the device manager and the bt is again showing up as  "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)"

How do I completely get rid of the drivers without reformatting the system?

I have a lenovo T460 which was working fine but a while back I lost all the wireless connectivity.

When I check device manager I see the adapter and it doesn't show anything wrong but I does not appear in the adapter list from Networking in Control panel and of course I can't connect to anything.

I'm attaching my configurations from SSU

I've been trying to get bluetooth working on my computer. My network card is an Intel Wireless AC 7260, which should have bluetooth capability. I've tried updating the general drivers and specifically downloading the bluetooth drivers for a few months now. Bluetooth simply isn't showing up as an option.

Relevant System Specs:

Motherboard: ASUS Z97-E LGA1150

Processor: Intel i5-4690

OS: Windows 10 Home

Network Adapter: Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC 7260

Thanks for any help!

I would like to upgrade my Intel Centrino Advanced N-6230 to a newer Dual Band Wireless AC card.

What is the latest and best card available that is the same format and will work in my half mini PCIe card slot?

I can not find the 8260 or the 8265 in this format?

AC-7265, using PROSet/Wireless Software 19.20.0, can't get the right driver

Hi I'm new to this community. Apologies for my English in advance.

Recently I started playing a MOBA game and I noticed a big time lagging issue while using wifi.

My wifi driver has never been updated since I bought this laptop, its version was 18.40.something. I decided to update it.

So I found this PROSet/Wireless Software 19.20.0 for Windows 10.

Under the description page it says:

" Intel® PROSet software version = 19.20.0

  • Driver version = 19.20.0.6 for Windows® 10 for 8265, 3168, 18260, 8260, 3165, and 17265 adapters.
  • Driver version = 18.33.3.2 for Windows® 10 for 7265, 3160, and 7260 adapters."

Which means I need to install version 18.33.3.2.

However after I installed the PROSet/Wireless Software, I checked my wifi driver and found its version became 19.20.0.6.

During the installation I was not asked to choose which driver version I'd like to install. The software just automatically installed driver version 19.20.0.6.

How can I install the version 18.33.3.2 driver?

Thank you!

AC 7260 Bluetooth mouse stops connecting

My PC Specialist Optimus V (Clevo W350) has a factory fitted AC 7260.  The machine is running Windows 8.1.  I have two bluetooth mice and both keep disconnecting.  I've un-ticked, ' Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power'.  Sometimes the mice won't be discoverable again unless I un-install the adapter and reboot.  These mice work fine on other computers.  It's the same whether I use Windows own generic driver or the latest Intel driver.

Any ideas?  I have the non-AC version of this adapter in another computer and don't remember having this problem..  Maybe I should swap them for a while although I would miss the higher WiFi speeds.

Intel 82577LM Gigabit Network Controller failure

I have integrated Intel 82577LM Gigabit Network Controller installed in my Dell Latitude E6510.

After installing updated driver from Intel and running hardware test it stopped working (displays "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" in driver details page).
Also it says that device is  82577LC (it used to be 82577LM).

I also tried deinstalling and reinstalling previous version of driver from Dell - nothing helps, even reinstall OS but it can not be solved.

Please advice.

Intel Dual Band Wifi Adapter 8260 is disabled after wakeup from sleep and bugchecks on Windows 10

I posted this question on the HP support forums but have yet to see a response. The problems does appear to point to the Intel driver but I would love any help I could get on this forum as to next steps. I've also attached the output of the Intel System Support Utility

I have an issue I'm trying to resolve for some time now. After my laptop wakes up from a sleep state, my wifi adapter will becom disabled (which can only be resolved with a complete reboot). I'm also getting in some cases a bluescreen from Windows (where the faulting component is Netwtw04.sys) which also only happens when the computer is waking up from a sleep state.

I've noticed when the wifi adapter becomes disabled I will see shortly before this an entry in the Windows Event Log that says

WLAN AutoConfig detected limit connectivity, performing Reset/Recover.adapter.

Here are the details of my configuration and what I've done so far to try and resolve it:

HP Studio ZBook G3

Windows 10 (OS Build 14393.351)

BIOS 1.14 (9/7/2016)

Wifi Adapter: Intel (R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 (Driver version 19.20.0.6  9/7/2016)

Here is what I've tried so far:

1. Completely reinstalled Windows 10 from scratch

2. Unchecked the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option for the adapter

3. Updated all drivers and BIOS from the HP Support site for this laptop

4. Stopped the Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Zero Configuration Service and set its startup to manual

I would appreciate any suggestions if anyone has seen this or knows the solution.

Thank you,

Bob Ward

CISCO LEAP support in Intel PROset/Wireless Software

Hello.

I have HP Probook 640G2 with Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 (PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24F3&SUBSYS_00108086&REV_3A). OS is Windows 7 Pro x64.

I need to create profile with authentication method Cisco LEAP - Enterprise security -> Open -> WEP -> Enable 802.1X -> LEAP.

After some install/uninstall of Intel PROset/Wireless Software i found that version 18.40.4 is the last version in witch LEAP authentication method exist:

Version. 18.40.4

18.40.4.png

Version. 19.20

19.20.png

But installing this drivers is not a solution - if LAN/WLAN switching is activated (BIOS or software metod) WLAN is not availible after is been disabled. The problem exist also if you disable WLAN from button.

How can i enable LEAP on new version (>18.40.4) of Intel PROset/Wireless Software?

If LEAP is dropped from support?

Hey,

i got a Dell Precision notebook with a Dual Band (AC 8260) card from Intel. After upgrading to windows 10 unfortunatly windows does not recognise my card as an bluetooth device anymore.

I already installed the new ProSet and separate Bluetooth driver for the card. Also i already read about this kind of issues - but was not able to fix mine. Any recommandations or step-by-step workarounds/solutions, that i might have missed?

John

Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 keeps reseting itself

Hello,

I've purchased Asus Zenbook 3 UX390UA about a month ago and since the day i first used it i've been having connectivity issues. Wifi adapter disables itself and then windows and everything just gets stacked. Later i tried to use Ubuntu also. It was a bit more stable but once in every week or so i got similar connectivity problems again. Then i reinstalled windows 10 again since it's the 'recommended' OS by Asus.

  • I've tried the solutions out there related with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update and all other windows 10 connectivity problems. Didn't work.
  • I've read all the related topics here in Intel Community. So working solutions so far.
  • I've tried 3 different intel drivers which are 18.40, 19.10 and 19.20
With 19.10 and 19.20 i got better ping responses (around 3-5 ms) but connectivity problems worse. I couldn't even get connected more than 5 minutes.
With 18.40 accidentally i noticed something that if i set the power management to the "maximum power saving" it lasts longer. I know everybody suggests "maximum performance" but it just makes the situation worse for me. With the "maximum power saving" setting, sometimes i had no problems for a couple of days but then usually have severe problems again.

You can find my event logs, system information and ping logs in the attachments.

Thank you very much.
