Hi,

I have read alot of issues with BT and win8 of these devices but my BT is working just fine. However i cannot detect the wifi.

I am running an intel NUC computer with the latest chipset drivers as well as wifi/BT drivers from intel.

Intel Centrino wifi doesnt even show up in the device manager under network adapters.

Any idea what the issue can be? Please help.

4965agn replacement recommendation, 6300?

0
0

I've been having some issues with my 4965agn card as it is not supported in Windows 8, so I'm looking to replace it with one that is.  Please correct me if I am mistaken, but the 6300 would appear to be compatible.  Any thoughts on that card or other recommendations for alternatives?  Thanks.

Help with 6235 installation on a dell inspiron e1705/9400 laptop

I have a Dell Inspiron E1705 running windows 7 64 bit.  I am attempting to upgrade the internal wireless adaptor with an Intel Centrino Advanced N 6235 card.  After installing the card and loading the latest Intel drivers, the card cannot find any wireless signals.  I get "no connections available".

The device manager says the card is installed properly and operating properly however I get zero connections available.

I realize it is probably a driver issue, but I have no idea what to do other than using the Intel drivers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2230 cant go over 30MBps

I have a Dell Inspirion 5520 that has Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2230 built in.

Also I have a TP link TL-WR740N wireless router.

I have an 80Mbps/25MBps internet connection.

My Speedtest result with no router:

http://speedtest.net/result/2536203933.png

When I connect all these via an Ethernet cable, I get the maximum  even through the router:

http://speedtest.net/result/2547959850.png

But when I try to do the same with WiFi I get 30/20 Maximum speed, and I'm sitting next to router!

http://speedtest.net/result/2547953374.png

I have this configuration:

*router:*

- Channel: auto

- Mode: 11n only

- Channel width: 40Mhz

- Max Tx rate: 150Mbps

- Enabled Wireless Router Radio

- Enabled SSID Broadcast

- Security: WPA- AES

- Beacon Interval : 100

- RTS Threshold: 2346

- Fragmentation Threshold: 2346

- DTIM Interval: 1

- Enabled WMM

- Enabled Short GI

*Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2230:*

- 802.11n Channel width for band 2.4 : Auto

- 802.11n Mode: enabled

- Ad Hoc Channel 802.11b/g: 1

- Ad Hoc QoS Mode: WMM enabled

- Bluetooth(R) AMP: Enabled

- Fat Channel Intolerant: Disabled

- Mixed Mode Protection: CTS-to-self Enabled

- Roaming Aggressiveness: 3. Medium

- Transit power: 5. Highest

- Wireless Mode: 802.11b/g

I do get the fact that speed through wireless is slower than with wire, but losing 50Mbps is a bit too much!

WiFi Direct with My WiFi Dashboard not working on Windows 8

I am running Windows 8 Pro 64 bit on a Lenovo ThinkPad Twist with an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230.

I have installed the latest available driver v.15.5.6.48 from Intel.   I have also downloaded and installed v.15.5.6 of the Intel My WiFI Dashboard (however it shows v.15.5.0 in "about").

My problem is that most, if not all of the options for My WiFi Dashboard are not present.  See the following image for what is available.  My specific interest is to use WiFi Direct to transfer files to/from a Samsung Galaxy S II.  I have already proven that WiFi Direct works on that device.

I'm at a loss as to what to try next.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

advanced-n 6205 for desktop unsigned drivers installation issues...

0
0

this is driving me absolutely crazy... just purchased the advanced-n 6205 for desktop from newegg and have tried all combinations of drivers and my windows 7 x64 system will not recognize the card.  it seems as looking in device manager that the drivers are unsigned and not allowing the card to install correctly.  furthermore, installation of the drivers seems to freeze up the system and causes me to hard reboot.  i have gotten the drivers and the software to install, but the "unsigned" drivers seems to be the problem at hand right now as the card just will not be recognized.

i've seen a lot of issues and posts with these drivers but really no resolution.  most of them have to do with dell pc's and that's not what i have here... it's a home built rig, freshly installed with windows 7 x64 and fully "updated" with windows update.

anyone have any thoughts or know how to fix these drivers ?  none seem to work AT ALL... on the CD it  came with, on the support site, etc... all are unsigned...

i don't want to have to return this damn thing, but i am not having any luck...

Thank you!!!

My WiFi Technology not working

Advanced-N 6235 adapter unable to find networks. Bluetooth not finding either.

Hi all:

I just installed an Advanced-N 6235 mini PCIe adapter into a DQ77KB motherboard. (The system works flawlessly with a USB-N53 adapter from Asus. That is how I am typing this. 4 wireless networks are available to the Asus adapter)

When I inserted the card, it went in easily at about a 40* angle. I had to apply pressure to keep it flat when inserting the 2 little end screws. Is that how it should be done?

I downloaded the latest Windows 8 64-bit drivers from the Intel site. 15.6.0.19 is the driver version installed. When I run Intel PROSet Wireless -> WiFi Manual Diagnostics - Run Tests, it says the hardware is enabled, the 15.6.0.19 driver is loaded and the radio is on, but the scan test fails.

Do I need to do anything else to get it to scan properly? Is there anything special I need to set in the Advanced properties?

Also, the bluetooth scan of a new keyboard doesn't work. It found the keyboard once (after many failed attempts), appeared to load the drivers, allowed me to type about 4 characters, and then lost the connection permanently. It cannot find it again when I scan. It appears that there are a lot of bluetooth drivers installed on my system.

Any ideas would be appreciated. I'd really like to get this working and free up 2 USB ports on my DQ77KB.

Thank you.

Bug report: netwsw00.sys (6230, v15.3.x) BSOD on Windows 8 x64

0

I have a laptop with Windows 8 x64 (with all the latest Windows Updates installed) with a 6230 card, running the latest 15.3.50 drivers found on Intel's website. When I connect my laptop to my Nexus 4 Android phone (using the WiFi hotspot tethering feature of the phone), I get a BSOD.

* I do NOT get a BSOD when I used my previous Android phone (LG P509, not sure what the WiFi chipset is) as a WiFi hotspot (yes, using the same computer, card, OS, drivers, etc.).

* I do NOT get a BSOD when I connect to my router's WiFi hotspot (Atheros AR9220/9223 chipset).

* I have NOT experienced a BSOD with any other hotspot that I've connected to.

* Reverting to the default driver that shipped with Windows 8 (14.2.1.3), FIXES the problem.

* I have another laptop, also running Windows 8 x64, but with a 6250 card running the latest 15.5.6 drivers, and there are no problems there, either.

* The latest Windows 7 drivers (15.3.1) exhibits the same problem.

* Sometimes it BSODs as it is establishing the connecting, and sometimes it BSODs after a minute or two of light usage after connecting. If it survives long enough to see some usage, the speeds are extremely slow.

* The BSODs always fault in netwsw00.sys, though the faulting code is often different. Sometimes it's an unhandled exception, sometimes it's IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, etc.

* Sorry, I have not been able to test this with Windows 7, so I am not sure whether this is a problem that is specific to Windows 8.

So to summarize:

* 15.3.50 and 15.3.1 are both broken

* 14.2.1.3 (older driver) works

* 15.5.6 (newer driver, not available for the 6230) seems to work (or I guess it could be because of the different card/computer)

* I see this BSOD only when connecting to some hotspots (in my case, the Nexus 4's hotspot) while most other hotspots seem to be fine.

Also, why did the 6250 get the latest 15.5 update while the 6230 was relegated to 15.3? The 6250 was released in 2010, while the 6230 was released in 2011, so why is the 6230 seemingly relegated to a deprecated status, not getting a "real" Windows 8 driver (I inspected the driver's INF), while the *older* 6250 was one of the cards to get a "real" Windows 8 driver in the form of 15.5?

Confusion over PROSet software for N6235

0

I have a Centrino Advanced N6235. I was looking through my Programs & Features list, and I found two different PROSet softwares from Intel and I'm not sure about the duplication.

The first one is "Intel PROSet/Wireless for Bluetooth + High Speed" (v15.5.5.0480, 3.88MB) and the second is "Intel PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth Technology" (v2.6.1210.0278, 90MB). Can I know which exactly is the one I need and which is redundant? It'll be silly to think there are two separate software to do the same function.

My WiFi Dashboard isn't working properly

I've a Intel Centrino Wireless-N 100 with Windows 8 Pro 64-bit. According to the information in the properties dialogue of the Wireless-N 100, the driver version is 15.4.0.11.

I've downloaded and run Wireless_15.6_64.exe.

I've installed Intel My WiFi Dashboard 15.05.5000.0219.

My WiFi Dashboard starts and appears to have all its features. I can start a hotspot and then see it on my iPad and iPhone. I can even connect to it.

Trouble is that the iPad won't then connect to the Internet.

When My WiFi Dashboard runs it starts the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport adapter. I can see it with the ipconfig command as "Local Area Connection* nn" where "nn" is a number. I cannot see the "Local Area Connection* nn" in the Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections. I'm sure that has changed since the Windows 7 version of this software. I used to see the connection in the Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections window.

While my WiFi network connection is shared, there's no provision in the Sharing window of the properties dialogue for sharing with a particular connection.

It has to be some sort of setting or software problem as I can create a wireless hotspot using the netsh command and can connect remote devices to the Internet with it. I followed the instructions at How to Turn Your Windows 8 Laptop into a Wireless Access Point.

When I do this, some things are different:

  1. the connection uses the Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual Adapter not the Virtual WiFi Miniport adapter (I have no idea what either of these do)
  2. an icon appears in Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections saying "Local Area Connection* pp" where "pp" is a number.
  3. in the properties dialogue of the WiFi connection, when I ask to allow my WiFi connection to be shared, I am asked which Home Networking Connection to use. When I say "Local Area Connection* pp" everything works fine.

I guess I can continue to use the command line solution, but there's a bit of fiddling and I'm lazy and would prefer to use the GUI offering. It worked really well under Windows 7 but now doesn't.

Is anyone able to help?

PROset 10.1 has stopped picking up my home wi-fi, I've not updated anything, any ideas?

My ageing laptop is running Windows XP (SP3) and Intel PROset 10.1.0.6

It has previously worked fine in picking up my home wi-fi but now doesn't. It does not show the network on the 'wireless networks found' screen and when I select it from Profiles and click connect, it will not connect. No error messages are shown. If I open the Intel Wireless Troubleshooter it shows 'Currently there are no issues reported'. I've not changed anything on the laptop.

My home wi-fi is working fine with other devices.

Brand new Win 8 HP DV7 autoconnect issue

I have a brand new HP dv7-7300 with Windows 8 and upon boot up the wireless

will not autoconnect half the time where another Win 7 dv6 will, and always

has.

If it does not connect when the machine is started, it will autoconnect in

exactly 1 minute if that is a clue.

It has a Intel Centrino Wireless adapter N 2230 and the driver is the

latest available Intel 15.5.6.48.

Roaming is set to Medium. Signal is strong. No extra Blue tooth devices.

I have done everything that I know to do without any results.

I can connect manually if I do not wish to wait for it to autoconnect.

Any info or tips would be appreciated.

Thanks.
